In The Ghetto…2007

Mi Gente..my people..Check out Elvis Presley and Lisa Marie Presley’s duet of The Ghetto. There are some strong images in this video. I am torn because I grew up listening to Elvis and watching his movies but I really don’t know how to feel about this video. I feel the message in the lyrics. I’d love to see a hip-hop version of this song.

I do believe the lyrics to the song are just as relevant today as when it was released in the early 70’s… but babies holding guns…so disturbing. Still and all it is a beautiful duet and thanks to the magic of technology and editing father and daughter come together. Lisa Marie looks so much like her late great Father.
